Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health: How One Graduate Threads Her Clinical Passion from Antioch to Internship and Beyond

Mackenzie Soniak, PsyD (Antioch 2019) accepted the position as the Director of the Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation Network for South Carolina. She completed her internship at Tulane University School of Medicine with a concentration in Infant Mental Health, and she is currently on her postdoctoral fellowship at the Irving Harris Program in Child Development and Infant Mental Health at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She is thrilled to accept this position with the Infant Mental Health Association of South Carolina to pursue her passion to enhance the care and well-being of young children and their families by helping build systems of care through training, reflective supervision and consultation, and policy work. She is excited that this position not only allows her to tap into the clinical training and specialized infant mental health knowledge she’s gained during her graduate training, but also provides her with the opportunity to revisit aspects of program development and evaluation that she developed an affinity for during her time at Antioch.
