Michael Akresh and Savannah McInvale ’20

Michael Akresh, Core Faculty member of Environmental Studies and Director of the Conservation Biology Concentration, Savannah McInvale ’20 (New England, ES), and other co-authors published an article, Effects of forest management on the conservation of bird communities in eastern North America: A meta-analysis in Ecosphere, an ESA Open Access Journal. Their meta-analysis examines the effects of silviculture on bird populations in eastern North America, and their results should help forest managers evaluate trade-offs of habitat enhancement for mature-forest and shrubland bird species
