Martha Freymann Miser Publishes Article on Leadership and Organizational Culture

Martha Freymann Miser ‘11 (GSLC, PhD), founder and president of Aduro Consulting, recently published an article in Coaching Perspectives, a UK-based journal. The piece titled “Do Not Obey in Advance: Comply or Rebel?” examines the risks of autocratic systems within organizations and explores how coaches may inadvertently reinforce control-oriented cultures. Drawing on historical and personal insights, Freymann Miser challenges the status quo, advocating for collaboration over compliance and encouraging coaches to recognize and support ethical boundaries in leadership.

Before founding Aduro Consulting, Freymann Miser held leadership roles in both the private and public sectors, including serving as Global Head of Leadership and Change for ING in the Netherlands. She holds a master’s degree in public administration and a doctorate in leadership and change. She currently serves on the editorial board of Coaching Perspectives.
