Froswa’ Booker, PhD, who serves on Antioch University’s Board of Governors and is an alum of the PhD in Leadership and Change program, has been named the 2026 Community Woman of Inspiration by the Dallas Wings. This honor is part of the annual Nancy Lieberman Women of Inspiration Awards.
These awards celebrate women whose leadership and achievements have made a real impact in business, community service, and their professions. Booker was honored along with Anne Chow, who received the Businesswoman of Inspiration Award, and ESPN and ABC reporter Holly Rowe, who received the Trailblazer Woman of Inspiration Award. All three were recognized during the Dallas Wings’ Inspiring Women game against the Los Angeles Sparks.
Booker is a nationally recognized leader in philanthropy, nonprofit management, community engagement, and organizational development. Describing herself as a “Network Weaver,” she believes relationships are essential to personal, professional, and organizational growth.
As President and CEO of Soulstice Consultancy, LLC, Booker helps organizations nationwide with organizational development, leadership training, community engagement, philanthropy, and building partnerships. She also founded and chairs the R2 Foundation (Restoration and Reconciliation Foundation), which supports and strengthens Black-led nonprofit organizations.
Throughout her career, Booker has focused on creating opportunities and building connections in different communities. As Vice President of Community Affairs for the State Fair of Texas, she managed grantmaking, educational programs, and community projects, with over 70 percent of funded groups led by people of color. Before that, as National Community Engagement Director for World Vision, she built partnerships and helped local organizations improve the lives of children and families.
Booker also co-founded HERitage Giving Circle, one of the first Black women’s giving circles in Texas, as well as Power in Action–Dallas and the South Dallas Employment Project, which helps people affected by incarceration. These projects show her lifelong dedication to working together, promoting equity, and transforming communities.
Booker’s commitment to service started when she was a child. In an earlier interview, she said her parents taught her that generosity should be a normal part of everyday life.
“Giving is a part of who I am, and being a part of my community started as a kid,” she said. “I saw that I didn’t lose anything by sharing. Sharing my time, talent, testimony, and treasure with others is what life is about.”
Booker earned her PhD in Leadership and Change from Antioch University, where she studied social capital, relational leadership, diverse women, and organizational change. Booker is currently an adjunct professor in Tulane University’s Master of Public Administration Program, where she teaches Governance, Leadership, and Sustainability. She is also an affiliate faculty member at Antioch University’s Graduate School of Leadership and Change.
Booker has written five books, including Empowering Charity: A New Narrative of Philanthropy (2022), which won the Gold Illumination Book Award and Silver Nautilus Book Award. Her latest book, Front Porch Wisdom: Navigating Leadership Pressures and Barriers as a Woman of Color, was published by InterVarsity Press in June 2025.
The Community Woman of Inspiration Award joins a long list of honors that recognize Booker’s impact, such as the Project Unity Individual Activism Award, the Gertrude Shelburne Humanitarian Award, the Spirit of Social Venture Partners Dallas Award, the League of Women Voters’ Making Democracy Work Award, and the Texas Women’s Foundation’s Maura Women Helping Women Award.
In every part of her work as a consultant, educator, author, philanthropist, board member, and community leader, Booker shows how strong relationships can lead to lasting and meaningful change.
