Lana Hechtman Ayers Publishes New Poetry Collection

Lana Hechtman Ayers ‘96 (New England, MA) has published a new poetry collection, A Hole in the Night, from Blue Light Press. The collection explores grief, memory, beauty, and the details of everyday life and pays tribute to Ayers’ late mentor, poet Patricia Fargnoli.

Ayers is the author of numerous poetry collections and chapbooks, as well as the time-travel novel Time Flash: Another Me. In addition to her Master’s in Counseling Therapy from Antioch, Ayers holds a BA in Mathematics from the City University of New York, an MFA in Poetry from New England College, and an MFA in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in psychology.” Her poetry has appeared in literary journals including The Comstock Review, Peregrine, The MacGuffin, and The Journal of Expressive Writing.

Ayers has also helped bring more than 150 poetry collections into print through her work as a managing editor for three small presses. She leads writing workshops, works with poets on developing their manuscripts, and hosts poetry readings and a poetry book club.
