Lisa Denison ’92

Lisa Denison ’92 (New England, MA) was featured in the article Lisa Denison Tells How You Can Help Rescued Animals on the InDepthNH.org website. Denison has been the Executive Director of the New Hampshire SPCA (NHSPCA) since 1994. Her dedication to animal welfare and advocacy for stronger laws to protect animals and ensure their long-term care has earned her a Commendation for Outstanding Service from Governor Chris Sununu.

Over the years, Denison has taken on various leadership roles, including two terms as President, Legislative Chair, and her current role as an Advisor for the NH Federation of Humane Organizations. She’s been actively involved with organizations like the HSUS Companion Animal Advisory Council and the PetSmart Charities Thought Leader Round Table. Lisa is currently serving on the Evolution of Animal Welfare Task Force, which works to make sure that the rules for taking care of farm animals are the same across the country and to create and check the guidelines for how farm animals are treated. Additionally, Denison has a decade of experience on the board of directors of The Sharing Foundation.

A nonprofit organization, the NHSPCA extends its services to more than 121 communities across the Seacoast of New Hampshire, southern Maine, and northern Massachusetts. The NHSPCA plays a vital role in the community, offering adoption, education, investigation, and sheltering services.
