Erica Holmes Publishes Groundbreaking Book

Erica Holmes, PsyD, Associate Program Chair and the Director of the Psychological Trauma Studies Specialization in the MA in Clinical Psychology program at the Los Angeles campus, has published Black Couples Therapy: Clinical Theory and Practice. The book, co-edited by Yamonte Cooper, explores a realm that has been underrepresented in the world of therapy and research—the unique experiences and needs of Black couples.

This publication not only provides insight into the research and theory behind race and collective identity but also offers practical guidance illustrated with real-world examples. Drawing from her extensive expertise, Holmes aims to equip students, researchers, and allied mental health professionals with a deeper understanding and enhanced competency in working with Black couples.
