Kim Langmaid ‘09

Kim Langmaid ‘09 (New England, PhD in Environmental Studies) was named Mayor of the town of Vail, Colorado and will serve a two-year term. She was unanimously elected by her colleagues following a swearing-in ceremony on December 7th, 2021. Langmaid served two terms for the Town Council in 2015 and in 2017, and served as mayor pro tem for two years prior to her recent election. Having been raised in Vail, Langmaid is contributing to the town’s tradition of leadership and is an active founding member of the Climate Action Collaborative for the Eagle County Community, the Eagle County Community Wildlife Roundtable, and the National Forest Foundation and Vail Resorts’ Eagle Valley Ski Conservation Fund Advisory Committee.
