Duncan Watson ’92 (New England, MS in Resource Management and Administration) was featured in the recent Keene Sentinel article, “City official hangs up fluorescent orange jacket after nearly 34 years.” The article marked Watson’s retirement from the City of Keene’s Public Works Department, where he capped a nearly 34-year career in municipal service. His tenure as the city’s assistant public works director officially ended on January 1, 2026. The article noted that he ‘wore many hats’ during his career in public works, stepping into a range of operational and leadership roles that kept essential city services running day to day.” He was also Keene’s solid waste manager and oversaw the operation of the city’s Recycling Center and Transfer Station.
And, in an unrelated claim to fame, Watson was the voice of “Peanuts” character Charlie Brown in animated specials from 1975 to 1977.
