Anil Coumar ‘94 (Seattle, MA) published a book titled Inquiry-Based Psychotherapy: Applying The Work of Byron Katie in Clinical Settings.

Coumar uses engaging case studies, exercises, and guidance to teach practitioners to integrate The Work into their therapeutic approaches. This will help to address anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship issues, and more. It is a guide for mental health practitioners to help their clients question stressful thoughts, access inner wisdom, and experience radical perspective shifts.
But this book isn’t just about theory—it’s a practical, hands-on guide for putting The Work into practice in real-world clinical settings.
Coumar is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Psychiatry Department of the University of Washington, Seattle. To read more about his practice, click here. The book can be ordered here.
