50 CMHC Students Inducted Into Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Honor Society

Fifty Clinical Mental Health Counseling students were inducted into the CMHC New England Chapter (Alpha Nu Epsilon) of Chi Sigma Iota, the international honor society of the counseling profession. They joined the 40 current student members and many alumni of the program. The Chi Sigma Iota Chapter is instrumental in promoting scholarship and practices related to social justice in the CMHC program. Recently, the Chapter sponsored a workshop on Decolonizing Therapy with Manuel Blasini-Méndez for the CMHC student community.

“We are very proud of the number of students in our program being honored through Chi Sigma Iota for their academic, scholarship, and advocacy accomplishments,” said Dr. Cathy Lounsbury, Chair, Clinical Mental Health Counseling Department. “Our student leaders within Chi Sigma Iota have been instrumental in promoting social justice values and actions within our program and beyond.”

Dr. Devona Stalnaker-Shofner, Dr. Jamie Bower, Dr. Misty Grant, and Dr. Kalesha Jenkins have served as faculty advisors to the CMHC New England Chapter.
