AULA Campus Update – Reopening Information

Dear AULA Students:

Greetings! Priority Registration is coming soon, and I want to give you an update on current plans for reopening the AULA campus on October 4th for fall 2021.

Update on Reopening Campus

The AULA Reopening Committee continues to plan to open campus this fall on a very limited basis beginning October 4th 2021. We plan to teach a few courses on campus beginning in fall, but most courses are scheduled to be delivered remotely, something to keep in mind for those of you registering for fall classes.  We will have the various service desks available remotely and also on limited schedules on campus. More details on these schedules will be announced prior to reopening.

We will, of course, monitor transmission of the COVID-19 Delta variant and will adhere to the Chancellor’s vaccination and mask requirements at all AU campuses, as well as the LA County and AULA mandates regarding the wearing of masks indoors in effect for the LA campus.

Mask and Vaccine Mandates

Proof of vaccination, use of masks (fully covering the nose and mouth), and a daily wellness check will be required of everyone–whether faculty, staff, student or guest—entering AULA building spaces. Exceptions to being fully vaccinated are only possible with formal approval. Antioch will be using an app to help confirm that the wellness check and vaccine verification has been completed. The specifics of the verification process will be shared soon. In the meantime, if you plan to be on campus this fall, keep in mind that COVID vaccines must be completed before you enter the building, starting as early as October 4th.

AULA Google reopening site

Please check your Antioch e-mail for information on the AULA reopening Google site, which provides further information about schedules, protocols for entering the building, and much more.

This site will be updated regularly. In the meantime, I want to reiterate that masks are required of anyone entering the AULA building.  Soon, I will share some of the points made in recent communications from the Chancellor and also from me regarding reopening the AULA campus.

Sincerely,

Mark Hower, PhD
Provost, AULA and Interim MAP Chair
