Will Stollsteimer

Will Stollsteimer, a student in New England’s MS in Environmental Studies program, was recently featured in the article “Upon Leaving the Nest Keene’s Will Stollsteimer Rediscovered a Passion for Birding” in the Keene Sentinel.

Despite an early connection with nature and coming from a family of birders, Stollsteimer did not take to it easily. In the article, he describes his journey from his home state of Pennsylvania to Antioch New England. He recalls the impact of one specific birdwatching trip with his mom and aunt, “I had never seen a snowy owl before,” Stollsteimer said. “I was young, and it reminded me of ‘Harry Potter.’ That definitely changed my tune, and I was a bit more open to it from that point forward.” His love of birdwatching and involvement in the MS in Environmental Studies program has led him to a career goal of becoming an environmental consultant to help landowners make their property more conducive to the care and nurturing of wildlife.
