Stephen Southern, EdD, core faculty member of the Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology (MACP) program at Antioch University’s Santa Barbara campus, was recently quoted in an article in Fodor exploring why vacation settings often enhance couples’ intimacy. The article, titled “Here’s Why Vacation Sex Is Better, According to Experts,” gathers insights from relationship specialists on the unique effects of travel on romantic connection.
Southern emphasized that vacations offer couples a break from daily routines and stressors, allowing for relaxation and emotional closeness that can deepen intimacy. His comments highlighted how shared experiences and new surroundings can help couples reconnect and revitalize their relationships, fostering a sense of renewal that can extend beyond the trip itself.
