Obed Danlami 12 (New England, Environmental Studies, PhD) had their Community Education Program, KELIC Education Consult, was established after graduation to contend with social injustice issues in Africa. The Keene Learning and Information Center exists to challenge the aristocracy created by corruption in Nigeria. KELIC has worked for almost 10 years to improve access to education and post-secondary education. Danlami says they do this work, “Because my Community Needs Me!” KELIC has tailored remedial programs, rigorous high school lessons, and mentorship/leadership programs to achieve this objective.
