Netera Pratt-Gutierrez Presents at Journey Towards Liberation Conference

Netera Pratt-Gutierrez ’21 (Seattle, MA) presented at Journey Towards Liberation, a conference sponsored by the Martinez Foundation.

Pratt-Gutierrez is an elementary librarian, Executive Board Member for Kent Education Association, and Kent Educators of Color Network member. She is an abolitionist teacher and leader who works to effect change in her school, district, and region.

Her presentation is entitled “Building Diversity Hubs in Your School.” According to her presentation, schools are social hubs where students engage with each other and by intentionally developing them with an eye for diversity, we can help ensure that students from traditionally excluded communities feel invited, embraced, and celebrated.
