Jen Sturge, EdD, Antioch’s Director of the School Library Endorsement Program and Core Faculty, recently received the Calvert County Women of the World (WOW) award at the annual WOW Awards Celebration. This event, a collaborative effort between the League of Women Voters-Calvert County and the Calvert County Commission for Women, honored the remarkable contributions of Calvert County women and girls.

Over the years, Sturge has forged a strong partnership between the public school system and the library. She has held national leadership positions and received national recognition for her work in and for school libraries and their students. Her efforts have promoted diverse collections, inclusive events, and a love of reading, enhancing the learning environment for all students in Calvert County. Her work has elevated Calvert Library’s presence and fostered meaningful partnerships across the school and library systems, benefiting the entire community.

Sturge has been a proponent of both school and public libraries since she won the Calvert Library bookmark creation contest at the age of seven. An avid reader and lifelong learner, she has been an educator for her entire adult life.
