Ileya Grosman Shares Connection-Centered Leadership Teaching and Mentorship Insights

Ileya Grosman ’25 (GSLC, PhD) is teaching upper-level undergraduates about leadership through the lens of connection, exploring topics such as self-as-leader, leadership and power, difference, and leadership as an ongoing process at the University of Denver. As part of the course, students visited the University of Denver’s art gallery to practice “artful thinking” and build adaptability through direct engagement with artwork. Learn more via LinkedIn.

She also presented at the 17th annual University of New Mexico Mentor Conference, sharing how micro-acknowledgements shape the higher education ecosystem. Her session—Pings, Dings, and How Are You: Quick caring check-ins that build student support networks—introduced key Relational Cultural Theory concepts, including mutuality and “5 Good Things,” and invited participants into an interactive dialogue about recognizing connection and exchanging moments of appreciation.
