Hazel Kight Witham ’08 (Los Angeles, MFA in Creative Writing) was named one of the 10 Teachers of the Year by the Los Angeles County Office of Education. A teacher at Venice High School, Witham was honored for her work and dedication during the pandemic and beyond. The top 10 educators in the county were selected from a field of 48 teachers representing 44 districts, and all participants were recently selected as teacher(s) of the year by their respective school districts, according to LA County Superintendent of Schools Debra Duardo.
