Froswa’ Booker ’14 (GSLC, PhD) has been honored with two awards recognizing her service and leadership in the Dallas community.
Booker is this year’s recipient of The Spirit of Social Venture Partners (SVP) Dallas Award, presented to a community leader who exemplifies innovation and uses their professional expertise to create meaningful change. This honor recognizes Booker’s profound impact on the Dallas philanthropic landscape and celebrates the often-unsung heroes advancing social good. SVP Dallas is committed to cultivating effective philanthropists, strengthening nonprofits, and investing in innovative solutions to tackle the region’s most pressing social challenges.
In addition, Booker is being honored with the Gertrude Shelburne Humanitarian Award by Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas. This award pays tribute to individuals who embody a legacy of trusted healthcare and advocacy, ensuring that all Texans have the opportunity to pursue the lives they deserve—no matter what. These recognitions underscore Booker’s unwavering dedication to equity, community empowerment, and social innovation.
Booker is an architect of meaningful connections and a globally recognized thought leader on social capital, with expertise in community engagement, philanthropy, and organizational development. As President and CEO of Soulstice Consultancy, she provides strategic guidance in philanthropic planning, leadership coaching, and organizational culture. Her insights have been featured in Forbes, Ozy, Bustle, HuffPost, and other national and international outlets. She is an adjunct faculty member in the Master of Public Administration program at Tulane University, a research affiliate in Antioch University’s Leadership and Change program, and a member of Antioch’s Board of Governors. She is the award-winning author of four books, including Empowering Charity: A New Narrative of Philanthropy, which received both the silver Nautilus Book Award and the gold Illumination Book Award. Her next book, Front Porch Wisdom: Navigating Leadership Pressures and Barriers as a Woman of Color, will be released in June 2025 by InterVarsity Press.
A dedicated civic leader, she co-founded HERitage Giving Circle—one of Texas’ first Black women’s giving circles—as well as Power in Action-Dallas and the South Dallas Employment Project, a collaborative of 140 organizations supporting individuals impacted by incarceration. She has received numerous honors, including the 2025 Making Democracy Work Award from the League of Women Voters, the 2024 Black Women Give Back Award, and the 2023 Maura Women Helping Women Award from the Texas Women’s Foundation.
