Consuelo Flores ’06, ‘08 (Los Angeles, BA, MFA) is a writer member of the Fierce Backbone Theatre Company. Her play, “Imperfect Lives,” is featured in their one-act festival, Think & Imagine. The play explores how labels can adversely affect family relationships. Think & Imagine contains 18 one-act plays and runs the first three weekends in October, October 6th-22nd. Anthony Pennant, LMFT, PhD ’22 (New England, PhD in Couple and Family Therapy), Associate Chair of the Couple and Family Therapy program in Seattle, was featured in the episode Socially Just Family Therapy on an award-winning podcast Coping 101. Atim Eneida George ’18 (GSLC, PhD) has received a Fulbright Specialist Program award. George will complete a project at Lead City University in Nigeria that aims to exchange knowledge and establish partnerships benefiting participants, institutions, and communities both in the U.S. and overseas through a variety of educational and training activities within American (U.S.) Studies. George is one of over 400 U.S. citizens who share expertise with host institutions abroad through the Fulbright Specialist Program each year. Online undergrad faculty member Greg Belliveau recently had his book Gods of IMAGO, the second installment of his dystopian book series IMAGO, published by Rogue Phoenix Press on August 23, 2023. Belliveau is an award-winning novelist and author of IMAGO (Rogue Phoenix Press, 2019) and Go Down To Silence (Multnomah Publishing: a Division of Penguin Random House, 2001), which was a Christy Award Finalist for Best First Novel and a collection of creative nonfiction entitled Seeds: Mediations on Grace in a World with Teeth (Crosslink Publishing, 2017). Scott Carnz ’97 (Seattle, MA) was named Provost by LIM College, which is exclusively focused on the business of fashion and lifestyle. Carnz, whose appointment was effective August 21, joins LIM from City University of Seattle where he served as Provost since 2019. In his new role, Carnz will serve as the chief academic officer of LIM College and will be responsible for establishing and sustaining the highest standards of academic excellence in all teaching, curricular, and academic co-curricular activities.
