Brad Daniel Honored with Namesake Award at Western Carolina University

Brad Daniel ‘03 (New England, PhD Environmental Studies) has been recognized by his colleagues at Western Carolina University with a new award named in his honor. The Brad Daniel Excellence in Experiential and Outdoor Education Award will be presented annually to the outstanding graduate of WCU’s Experiential and Outdoor Education (EOE) master’s program.

“I was humbled and honored to be notified that this award was named for me,” Daniel said. “There are many colleagues whom I consider far more deserving.”

The award celebrates students who demonstrate excellence, a passion for practice, and a joyful approach to their work—using the outdoors to engage the heart, challenge the mind, and nurture the spirit. The first recipient, Aj Czarnecki-Atwell, was recognized at the College of Education and Allied Professions Awards Ceremony on April 28.
