Atim George to be Featured Presenter and Facilitator of a Roundtable Discussion at Fulbright Conference

Atim George ’20 (GSLC, PhD), Adjunct Faculty Member and Mentor in the IMA Program, will be a featured roundtable facilitator for the discussion entitled “Exploring the Arts and Generative Leadership in Nigeria” at the 47th annual Fulbright Conference: The World at a Crossroads, October 25-26 in Washington, DC. The Fulbright Association’s mission is to extend the international exchange into a lifelong experience for U.S. alumni, connecting alumni and friends of the Fulbright program through lifelong learning, collaborative networking, and service projects.

George will use her lived experience as an artist, story gatherer, educator, and retired U.S. diplomat to explore the results of her research in a session titled, “The Arts and Generative Leadership.” Using the power and insights derived from Arts-based Research (ABR) Methodologies, she will discuss her experiences as a Fulbright Specialist at Lead City University in Ibadan, Nigeria, where she employed actionable Arts-based Research Methods to illustrate the positive impact of art.

George has also been invited to share Cultivating Leadership Stories in Rural Senegal, Winrock International’s Farmer to Farmer Volunteer Program at the 82nd Professional Agricultural Workers Conference which will be held in Montgomery November 17 – 19, 2024. It is sponsored by Tuskegee University, which is her grandfather John’s alma mater.
