Ashley Hartman, Faculty Member in Art Therapy at Antioch University, New England, contributed paintings to the 2025 Arthaus Residents and Allies Exhibition in Ithaca, NY. Titled Complex or Collective? A Grief Series, the show brought together artists of all ages living at the Ithaca Arthaus, participants in the Cherry Open Art Hive, and community members, including unhoused neighbors, established artists, and local staff and volunteers. The exhibition explored personal responses to both individual and collective grief.

Hartman’s scholarly work centers on museum-based art therapy, intersectional identity, neurodiversity in clinical settings, and the integration of Eastern philosophical practices related to control, anxiety, and mindfulness, especially in contexts of medical illness and trauma.
