ARTC Faculty and Alums Featured in Seattle Times Article

Shukri Olow is featured in an article in the Seattle Times, “Meet the Kent mom behind Ramadan Affirmation Cards Project.” She serves on Seattle’s School of Education’s Committee of Community Advisors and has also been an instructor in Seattle’s Alternative Route to Teacher Certification (ARTC) program. Included in the article with Olow are Andrea Amoranto Victoria ‘20 (Seattle, MA) and Netera Pratt-Gutierrez ‘21 (Seattle, MA), who are ARTC alumni. Olow founded the Ramadan Affirmation Cards Project in 2019, beginning with her daughter’s school in order to build support for young Muslim students who fast during the school day.
