Amanda Martinez ‘08 (Antioch Santa Barbara, MAT) has been hired as the assistant superintendent of Pupil Services at the Goleta Union School District (GUSD). For the last four years, Martinez has been the principal of El Camino Elementary School, one of the nine schools in the GUSD. Before that, she was the district’s coordinator of special education. Dr. Juan “Kiko” Suarez ’14 (PhD, GSLC) has been appointed Chief Academic Officer at Huntington Junior College in Huntington, WV. The appointment was made by HJC President Fred Fransen and is an important step in positioning the college for future success.
