Andrew Parsons Receives Teacher of the Year Award

Andrew ParsonsAndrew Parsons, an alum of the AUS School of Education’s Alternative Route to Teacher Certification (ARTC) Program, received the “Teacher of the Year” award at Park Orchard Elementary School in the Kent School District for the 2019-2020 school year. The recipient of this award is recognized as an outstanding teacher by fellow staff, parents, and students. Receiving this award is especially impressive for Parsons, as this is only his third year as a teacher.

Parsons graduated from the ARTC Program in 2019 and teaches sixth grade English Language Arts and Social Emotional Learning. He has been recognized throughout the Kent School District for his deep commitment to students and to building classroom communities that foster profound curiosity and connection. The School of Education is so proud of Parsons and the recognition that he has received as Teacher of the Year!
