LauraLynn Jansen Leads Human-Centered Leadership Workshop on “Third Space” at ISODC

LauraLynn Jansen ’23 (GSLC, PhD in Leadership and Change) and her colleague Kenadie Cobbin-Richardson, CEO of Kengen Consulting, presented their experiential learning model of Human-Centered Leadership in a session titled Cultivating the Third Space: Aligning Leadership for Organizational Growth at the International Society for the Advancement of Organization Development and Change conference at Sacred Heart University. This year-long, progressive leadership development program is based on Jansen’s dissertation, which focuses on the process of humanization, combined with Cobbin-Richardson’s background in diversity, equity, and inclusion. The session spoke to today’s ever-evolving leadership landscape, where one constant remains essential: cultivating a relational space within organizations. Drawing on the concept of the third space, an intersubjective dimension between individuals (Gunnlaugson & Brabant, 2016), the workshop explored how leaders can foster deeper connections and alignment within their teams to drive organizational growth.
