
Kathy Hoffman ‘22 (GSLC PhD) has been appointed as an Advisor in the Director’s Office of the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries. She joined the agency in 2018. In her new role, she will provide policy, analytic, research, and legislative management advice and support to the Director and executive leadership on policy issues affecting the agency, primarily focusing on ergonomics, worker’s compensation, and post-COVID-19 work scenarios.
Before her current position, Hoffman was the first Research Manager at the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board, where she established the agency’s inaugural research program. She collaborated extensively with universities and partners to shape the program and its research direction.
Hoffman was previously the Agency Policy and Rules Manager for the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board, overseeing policy and legislative development for various products. With 18 years of experience as a civil litigation paralegal, she has also handled a diverse range of cases in both private and public sectors.
