April Brucker ’19 (Los Angeles, MFA) headlined internationally with her new comedy special, April Backstage. Written and performed by Brucker, the special offered a behind-the-scenes, no-holds-barred look at the life of a comedian and is streaming on Uncaged TV in the UK.
“Because of my Antioch MFA, I can do anything and write anything,” said Brucker. “I always dreamed of doing something like this, but only after meeting my mentors at Antioch did it become possible.”
Brucker’s career spans television, stand-up, live performance, and published writing, with April Backstage adding to her growing body of bold, genre-crossing work. Dubbed the “ventriloquial vixen,” her TV credits span Entertainment Tonight, Inside Edition, My Strange Addiction, Judge Jerry, and April in Vegas, among others.
