Angie Bryan Receives the Recovery Champion Award from the Association of Recovery in Higher Education

Angie Bryan ‘11 (Santa Barbara, MA) received the Recovery Champion Award from the Association of Recovery in Higher Education. This award honors an individual or organization that has championed collegiate recovery in a transformative and astounding manner. The Collegiate Recovery Champion Award is the highest annual honor recognized by ARHE.

Bryan is the founder of the Gauchos for Recovery at UC Santa Barbara, the first program for students in recovery in the UC system. This innovative program is an ongoing lifestyle support system for young adults invested in sober living. Bryan has been involved with the Association of Recovery in Higher Education in many ways, including her service on the National Board of Directors as the Pacific Regional Representative. She also was the co-writer of “Ethical Guidelines for Collegiate Recovery Professionals,” a six-year project created to aid professionals in the field of collegiate recovery in navigating ethical decision-making.
