Amy Coleman Appointed Executive Vice President, Chief People Officer at Microsoft

Amy Coleman ‘95 (Seattle, MA) has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer at Microsoft. In this new role, Coleman will lead Microsoft’s global Human Resources organization, supporting more than 220,000 employees worldwide, and continue to foster a culture of innovation, inclusion, and excellence. She joins Microsoft’s senior leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO.

Over the past 25 years at Microsoft, Coleman has built a distinguished career with leadership roles across engineering, sales, marketing, and business development. Most recently, she served as Corporate Vice President of Microsoft’s Corporate Functions HR team, collaborating with key areas such as Corporate, External & Legal Affairs, Finance, Marketing, Business Development, Strategy & Ventures, and the Office of the CEO. She also played a key role in enterprise crisis management and work environment policy.

Throughout her career, Coleman has been a trusted advisor and culture builder, leading major organizational initiatives, enhancing employee engagement, establishing Microsoft’s employee relations team, and driving enterprise-wide people strategies. Her commitment to operational excellence, performance, and thoughtful leadership will be pivotal as Microsoft enters its next chapter.

Outside of Microsoft, Coleman is deeply committed to education and equity. She serves as a campaign executive for the Washington State Opportunity Scholarship, which creates pathways
