PsyD Faculty and Student Publish Article In APA Journal

Jude Bergkamp, PsyD, Chair and Core Faculty of Seattle’s PsyD in Clinical Psychology program, and colleagues published the article “An uncomfortable tension: Reconciling the principles of forensic psychology and cultural competency” in the APA flagship forensic psychology journal Law & Human Behavior. The article asserts that philosophical pillars of forensic psychology and cultural competency are not compatible and require critical review for alignment. In addition, the article provides a comprehensive guide on how to incorporate cultural considerations into forensic practice. Seattle PsyD student Magen Hauser and adjunct faculty Katie McIntyre were also contributing authors.
