    Onita Morgan-Edwards ’17 (Midwest, BA) had her essay, “Shadows and Benefits of Doubt” published in the Wright Memorial Public Library’s Art & Literary Zine (Glide).

  • Nicole Martin ’17

    Nicole Martin ’17 (Los Angeles, MA) was hired as the inaugural head coach of Loyola Marymount University Athletic’s Spirit Squad.

  • Megan Lyons ’17

    Megan Lyons ’17 (New England, PsyD) was interviewed for St. Eau Claire, Wisconsin’s The Country Today on mental health as an increasingly pressing issue in all communities, including rural areas. Dr. Lyons is a postdoctoral therapist at Phoenix Behavioral Health in Two Rivers, WI.

    Jane-Rebecca Cannarella ’17 (Los Angeles, MFA) published a story in an issue of Ellipsis Zine, an online literary journal. Cannarella is the editor of HOOT Review and Meow Meow Pow Pow Lit.

  • Abigail Abrash Walton ’16

    Abigail Abrash Walton ’16 (GSLC, PhD) published a research article, “Positive Deviance and Behavior Change: A Research Methods Approach for Understanding Fossil Fuel Divestment,” in the Elsevier Journal of Energy Research and Social Science. The article focuses on the need for global institutional leaders to divest from fossil fuels.

    Katie Furden ’16 (Santa Barbara, MEd) has received the honor of Distinguished New Educator for her work as a fifth-grade teacher at Franklin Elementary School in the Santa Barbara Unified School District.

    Amy Climer ’16 (GSLC, PhD) shared insight based on her dissertation research at TEDxAsheville. Her presentation “The Power of Deliberative Creative Teams” highlights the ways in which tapping into collective team creativity leads to innovation. Owner of Climer Consulting, Dr. Climer delivers engaging, experiential training programs that teach people to leverage creativity.

She was honored by the Association for Women in Communications, Santa Barbara Chapter (AWC-SB) and was presented with the Lois Phillips Founders Award for her efforts to help girls find their voices and become more confident through music.

    Sylvia Asante ’15 (GSLC, PhD) was appointed Dean of Labor at Berea College in Berea, Kentucky. Dr. Asante was recently recognized by alumni of Gettysburg College who voted to honor her work by renaming the Gettysburg College Award of Distinction to the Sylvia E. M. Asante Award of Distinction.
