Amber Gonzalez“I am so honored to have received this recognition from our amazing PTA,” said Gonzalez. “It was a very unique year in schools across the country, and ours was not an exception.

Gonzalez, who teaches K-6 Library & Technology, is her building’s Teacher Librarian & Technology Integration Specialist.

“One of my priorities during distance learning was to ensure technology issues were not keeping our students from accessing school, and I felt very fortunate to be able to serve our community in that way,” added Gonzalez. “I am very proud to be a member of such a tight-knit school family. Our entire staff went above and beyond to ensure we all stayed ‘connected’ in every sense of the word.”

“The School of Education is so proud of Amber and the well-deserved recognition she has received as Outstanding Educator of the Year,” said Dr. Rachel Oppneheim, Director of the School of Education. “We know she is doing amazing work and is building strong relationships with her students and their families, in spite of the barriers of remote learning. We congratulate her for this wonderful accomplishment.”
