Tom Wessels: Change Agent

Tom Wessels, faculty emeritus in the Department of Environmental Studies, was profiled as a “change agent” in the June 14 issue of the Christian Science Monitor. In the interview, he told writer Cathryn Prince that economics is as important as saving energy in protecting the environment, and that the marketplace, if more focused on a local level, can help conserve farm and forestland.

Wessels continues to teach intensive courses and lead field trips at AUNE.

The Christian Science Monitor, in its Change Agent series, regularly profiles people who are making a difference in the world.
