Steve Chase Authors Sentinel Article on the Future Economy

Steve Chase, director of AUNE’s Advocacy for Social Justice and Sustainability program, wrote a column, “Forging an Economy of the Future, Today,” which appeared in the Sunday, October 14, issue of the Keene Sentinel. Chase discusses building an economy that not only generates jobs and profits but social justice and environmental sustainability as well.

Several Monadnock organizations concerned with that subject are sponsoring, “Fixing the Future: Building Jobs, Income, and Sustainability” on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m., in the Colonial Theater in Keene. The film is hosted by David Brancaccio of National Public Radio’s “Marketplace” and PBS’s “NOW.” Jen Risley, ’04, chair of Monadnock Buy Local and an AUNE alumna, organized the event.

Building on that and other initiatives, the Transition Keene Task Force will co-host a gathering at AUNE at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 13, to take part in a national, interactive webinar entitled “Time Banking as Community Capital: Creating Prosperity and Community Services Without Currency.”
