SSF Story: Keene Leads in Sustainable Planning

The Security and Sustainability Forum’s (SSF) inaugural newsletter, in June, included a story on Keene as a model for sustainable city planning and adaptation to climate change. Much of its success can be credited to collaboration with educational institutions like AUNE, according to the story, “Spotlight: Sustainable City Planning.”

SSF talks about how AUNE faculty, students, and staff have served on Keene’s Cities for Climate Protection Committee from the beginning and have led efforts such as building the bike path, the 10% Challenge, and establishing the new Monadnock Food Co-op. It also quotes Abi Abrash Walton, director of AUNE’s Center for Academic Innovation and chair of the City of Keene’s Planning Board.
