Sobel Reviews Film That Airs Oct. 2

The latest issue of Rethinking Schools includes a movie review by David Sobel, senior faculty in AUNE’s Department of Education. Sobel reviews Schools That Change Communities, a 2012 film by Bob Gliner, which airs on PBS World stations. The movie focuses on five schools in five different U.S. At these five schools, the emphasis is on connecting the curriculum to real issues and problems in the school and the community, Sobel writes. The teachers create curriculum that changes students and changes communities.

The film will air on Oct. 2 at 4 p.m.
