Security and Sustainability Forum Spotlights Keene and AUNE

The city of Keene and Antioch University New England (AUNE) were highlighted recently on the Security and Sustainability Forum (SSF) website as an example of sustainable city planning for climate change.

Keene Mayor Kendall Lane pointed to AUNE’s partnership with Keene as an example of collaborations with institutions that have been instrumental in the city’s progress. He applauded members of AUNE’s community who have been serving on Keene’s Cities for Climate Protection Committee.

SSF also cites AUNE’s leadership on initiatives such as the new Monadnock Food Co-op, the Ashuelot Rail Trail, and the 10% challenge.

The website quotes Abigail Abrash Walton, director of AUNE’s Center for Academic Innovation and chair of the City of Keene’s planning board.

SSF is an organization that hosts free educational webinars in which panels of global experts explain and address important disruptions to natural systems, such as climate change, that threaten human health and welfare.
