“For my field studies, I’m interning at the Alexandria House, which provides residential living transitional for women and children. One of the projects I’m most excited about is the community garden project. We turned plant boxes into an edible garden and developed a nutritional educational program for the children. And at the end, the residents and children of Alexandria House harvested the food and had these wonderful meals together… We don’t go out into the community to impose our own values. We… listen and develop programs based on their principles and values.”
