Keene Community Garden Connections (CGC) welcomes the public to a garden-filled evening, 6:30 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, March 6.
The theme is “Integrating the Garden into Your Program,” and will feature demonstrations and hands-on activities by the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension educators, Jess Skinner of ReRootEd, and Monica Pless of Stonewall Farm and Antioch University New England (AUNE). Also highlighted will be educators from Early Sprouts, Symonds School, Stonewall Farm, and AUNE.
The free event is for individuals and groups, such as schools or churches, who are looking for ways to incorporate gardens into the work they do. Participants will be able to network with community educators, glean ideas for garden-related activities and curricula, and gather resources to prepare for a new season of learning in the garden. The event was made possible by the AUNE Student Activity Fund with ongoing support from the Rashti Foundation.
The event will be held at Keene Family YMCA, 200 Summit Road, Keene, New Hampshire.
CGC is a student-run, faculty-supported project of AUNE’s Environmental Studies department. The group works to build community capacity to access and grow healthy affordable food through the development of gardens in partnership with community organizations and agencies.
