PsyD Professor and Students attend APA Conference

Gargi Roysircar, professor of clinical psychology, and students from the Department of Clinical Psychology’s Disaster Shakti presented a symposium at the American Psychological Association conference in Hawaii August 4.  The presenters and the title of their symposium were:

Gargi Roysircar, Kevin O’Leary, Melissa Boudreau, Abimbola Afolayan, Tom Hulslander, Perrin Tellock, Kelsey Moran, and Molly Conley Disaster Mental Health Service in Haiti: Vision, Practicum, and Research.

The following papers were presented:

  •    A Vision for International Disaster Response, by Gargi Roysircar
  • Disaster Mental Health Practicum in Haiti and Qualitative Analyses of Process Notes, by Melissa Boudreau, fourth-year PsyD student
  • Multicultural Measurement of Haitian House-Tree-Person Drawings, by Kevin O’Leary, second-year PsyD studen
  • Haitian Children’s House-Tree-Person Drawings: Global Similarities and Differences, Bola Afolayan, fourth-year PsyD student

Michael Salzman, chair of the Department of Educational Psychology, University of Hawaii-Manoa, was the discussant of the symposium.
