Palmiotto, AUNE Forest Ecologist, to Speak About Mount Monadnock Projects

Peter Palmiotto, forest ecologist and founder of the Monadnock Ecological Research and Education (MERE) project at Antioch University New England, will speak on “Monadnock: Summit Science” on Wednesday, October 19, at Keene State College’s Science Center. The talk will be held from 7 to 8 p.m.

With so many visitors, and climate change looming, the fragile alpine plant communities on Mount Monadnock require special care. Palmiotto will introduce several innovative research and stewardship initiatives taking place on the mountain.

The event is free and open to the public. It is co-sponsored by the Harris Center for Conservation Education in Hancock, New Hampshire, and the Keene State College School of Sciences.
