Amber Pairis, PhD ’05, has been appointed assistant secretary for climate change at the California Natural Resources Agency by Gov. Jerry Brown. Amber has been a climate change advisor at the California Department of Fish and Wildlife since 2008.
Before going to California, Amber worked for the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies in Washington, D.C., where she was the science and research liaison coordinating research and policy between the state fish and game departments and federal natural resource agencies on energy and climate change issues.
Amber was given the 2013 Alumni Environmental Excellence Award by AUNE’s Department of Environmental Studies.
