Memorial Quilt at AUNE Marks World AIDS Day

Two sections of the AIDS Memorial Quilt were displayed in AUNE’s bookstore on December 14. AIDS Services for the Monadnock Region brought the sections to the area to note World AIDS Day on December 1.

More than 49,000 three-foot-by-six-foot panels, each one commemorating the life of a person who died of AIDS, make up the quilt, which is the largest community art project in the world. It was first displayed in October 1987 on Washington’s National Mall.
