Gina Loring

“I chose the MFA program at AULA because I wanted to spend some time nurturing my craft as a writer, learning more about poetry, reading more, expanding my own vocabulary and knowledge. It was something I wanted to do as a gift to myself, to become a better writer. I’m really thankful for the experience; it helped me grow a lot… [The MFA program] allows you to continue to live your life – if you need to travel, if you need to work – but also maintain the consistency of the program.”

Gina is a poet/vocalist/mermaid; served as a guest poet of the American Embassy; has been featured on HBO’s Def Poetry and BET’s Lyric Café. To learn more about Gina, visit her website. Gina’s interests include writing poetry at the beach, writing songs, and practicing guitar (pitifully).
