Flash Mob Breaks Out at Wessels’ Retirement Get-together

To celebrate retiring Tom Wessels, more than two hundred fifty, alumni, faculty, and staff from Antioch University New England (AUNE) gathered in Swanzey, New Hampshire, on April 28. Environmental studies (ES) students Andy Patari and David McMeekin performed their Ecological Dynamics rap while a flash mob broke out. Watch the fun here.

Wessels began working as an adjunct at AUNE in 1978 and became full-time in 1992. The Environmental Biology program was launched with Wessels as director in 1993. In 2007, Wessels and William Ginsberg founded the Ginsberg Wessels Scholarship Fund. As professor emeritus, Wessels will still teach intensives and field study trips.

Watch the original rap, written for Wessels’ ecological dynamics of landscapes class.
