Dr. Lorraine Mangione – on Psychosis and Shutter Island

Lorraine Mangione, PhD presented Friday, April 29th, at a conference sponsored by the John D. Calandra Italian American Institute at Queens College, New York. The topic was “The 3 F’s in Italian Cultures: Critical Approaches to Food, Fashion, and Film.” Her presentation, under the program heading of Fashioning Style in Reel/Real Life, was titled, “It’s way over the top, you know, that’s how Scorsese is”: A Psychological Perspective on the Layers of Illusion in Shutter Island.
