C&S Gives $300 Toward Orienteering Course at Horatio Colony Preserve

C&S Wholesale Grocers, headquartered in Keene, New Hampshire, has given $300 to support the Horatio Colony Nature Preserve’s Self-Guided Orienteering Course.

Ezekiel Jakub, a student in the Department of Environmental Studies at Antioch University New England (AUNE), is developing the orienteering course. The public was invited to try out the course, with an introduction to using compasses and reading maps, on July 16.

AUNE has been affiliated with the Horatio Colony Nature Preserve, a wildlife refuge owned and operated by the Colony Memorial Trust, since 1986. AUNE graduate students coordinate education and stewardship activities at the preserve, which has 615 acres of diverse woodlands and wetlands in Keene.
